When was Jesus born? Most people believe that Jesus was born in December but that is not true according to the scriptures...so what happened? When was he born? We know that the feasts of God were given not just to have a celebration, but to give us a divine timeline to go by.
In Deuteronomy 16:16 (NKJV) Says "Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God in the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles; and they shall not appear before the Lord empty-handed. 17Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you."
God wanted his people to gather in Jerusalem for these feast:
The feast of Passover - (3)March-(4)April
The feast of Pentecost-Shavuot - (5)May -(6)June
The feast of Tabernacles- Sukkot - (9)September-(10)October
John the Baptist was 6mo older than Jesus.
Luke 1:5-9 (NKJV) There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. 7 But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years. 8 So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, 9 according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. 10 And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense. 11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. 12And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. 13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
Luke 1:26 (NKJV)Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
Luke 1:36-37 (NKJV) Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
John’s father - Zachariah was the priest of the course of Abaja the 8th division. Zachariah would work 2 weeks of year, but all the priest would serve during all 3 feast. So the Religious year begins in our April. The 1st division would work the 1st week, the 2nd division on the 2nd week, but on the 3rd week was Passover, so all the priest would serve. So roughly the 8 course (Abaja) Zachariah would serve at the end of May and the beginning of June, the next week would be Pentecost, so all the priest would serve. So Zachariah would have finished his priestly duties at the end of June. So Elizabeth would get pregnant sometime in the month of July. 6mo later in December Mary would have been over shadowed by the Holy Spirit, therefore Jesus was conceived during the feast of Lights (Hanukkah) also known as the feast of miracles. 9 mouths later in September- October Jesus was born during the feast of tabernacles- Sukkot. When there would have been roughly around 3 million people in Jerusalem/Bethlehem and there was no room left in the Inn.. everyone would have been in Shelters (sukkah) a ten like hut... a lot like the nativity. How the nativity is display also wrong. The shepherds were there but the wise men were not. But don't take my word for it search the scriptures.
John 8:32 (NKJV)And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
You see this conversation is in the present tense. (manger)
Luke 1:8-12;15-16 (NKJV) Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.
This is past tense. Left manger now in the house.
Matthew 2:1-;7-11 (NKJV) Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” 7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.” 9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
